This Podcast is about the early sounds of trance before the heavy hand of commercialism changed the sound forever in the late 90s.

Trance was an idea, having its origins in the UK acid house scene, it experimented with the existing electronic sounds , utilizing a more melodic structure to create a unique hypnotic sound of its own which combined acid and techno influences.

Arguably the first true trance act was the KLF who paved the way for acts such as Dance 2 Trance and Age of Love whose self-titled debut marked the beginning of the German trance scene.

I will be discussing the genre in as much detail as I can, to kick us off here is an acid trance mix I put together with acts ranging from 1991 to 1996.

As Trance emerged from the acid scene I felt it appropriate to make the first mix an acid influenced one.
